The bluesign® certificate goes a step beyond being an ecolabel. Due to the global focus of this industry standard, not only the safety of the end consumer has been taken into account, but also other aspects, including occupational health, emissions to water and emissions to air.

Apart from these important aspects, the principle of resource conservation plays a major role within the bluesign® certificate. The independent bluesign® certificate guarantees that the entire production chain contains only components and only goes through processes that are harmless to people and the environment. It uses what is called “Input Stream Management” which looks at production as a series of steps that need to be individually monitored and certified.
